Patricia Lange, 77,

Patricia Lange, 77, Patricia Lange, 77, of Hopewell, New Jersey, died peacefully Friday, April 1, 2016, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy and courageous struggle with cancer. She was born in Santiago, Chile, the daughter of Fritz Büttner Lange and Maria Cristina Argandoña, de Lange. In Chile, she discovered her love of metal and clay sculptures taking art classes at the School of Applied Art at the University of Chile in Santiago. She was a prominent metal sculptor, enamellist and ceramist. Her work has been installed in many venues, such as:Bristol-Myers Squibb, New Jersey Hospital Association, 101 Carnegie Center and Weyerhauser Co. and Pennswood Village, and exhibited in the Grounds for Sculpture. She was also a committed teacher who instructed blind students in the Form in Art program at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She created the metal sculpture of the standing chalice for Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton, where she was a member since 1980. Until recently, she was an exhibiting member of the Artists` Gallery in Lambertville, N.J. She worked with almost every material imaginable, metal scraps and found materials, as well as wall-sized pieces of aluminum, steel, and copper . Inspired by her love of the earth and nature, Lange was cited as chartering an evolving but consistently fresh style throughout the Artists’ Gallery exhibits–an ability to make hard metal look as soft as flower-petals and render her clay pieces, ancient and soulful. Educated as an accountant, she worked for several years as consultant for Johnson and Johnson and General Electric. Known for her playfulness and sense of humor, Patricia Lange will be missed by the many who loved her, foremost her husband of 40 years, Gregory Nagy, her son Andreas Falley, her sister Lita Lange, her stepdaughter, Ilona Kimberly Nagy of Lambertville, her stepson, Paul Nagy of Ellicott City, Maryland and her grandchildren. Isabel Nagy Kirk of Lambertville, N.J., David Nagy and Natalia Nagy of Ellicott City, Maryland, and Daniel Nagy of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was the former wife of the late Florian Thomas Falley. She was also a member of the Hopewell Valley Lions Club. A service celebrating her life will be conducted on Saturday, April 9. 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton, 50 Cherry Hill Road, Princeton, N.J. 08540. Her family would like to express their deep appreciation for her many friends who have so generously provided loving care and support.
