Neither the driver nor the van’s passenger were seriously hurt, according to police.

The accident occurred at 9:18 a.m. on Dec. 8 when a Mercedes Benz, driven by Xiang M. Li, collided with the back of the medical van as its driver was making a left turn from McKinley Avenue onto Grove Avenue, police said.

Police Officer Salvatore Cipolla investigating the accident said the force of the collision caused the van, owned by Procare Inc. of Highland Park, to topple over onto the front lawn of a McKinley Avenue home.

Li was issued a careless driving summons, police said.

The driver of the medical van suffered a cut on his hand, and his elderly passenger complained of pain. They were both transported by ambulance to nearby JFK Medical Center for treatment.

Li had complained of knee pains, but was not taken to the hospital, police said.
