The driver, a 27-year-old male resident of Manalapan, was found unconscious in the car. Responders from the Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad arrived and safely removed the man from the vehicle. First aid was administered and the driver regained consciousness, according to police.

A passenger who was in the vehicle at the time of the crash fled the area on foot prior to the officers’ arrival. That person later returned to the scene and was identified as a 26-year-old male resident of Manalapan.

As the result of an investigation, narcotics and drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. Both men were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The driver was also issued summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and careless driving.

At the time of the crash, a resident was inside the home, but was not injured. Other than the damage to the garage door, there were no other structural damages to the residence. Neither man who was in the vehicle was injured. Patrolman Christopher Oleksy handled the investigation.
