OLD BRIDGE — Police are continuing to investigate whether or not a suspicious package found in an abandoned vehicle was an explosive, according to Old Bridge Police Detective Sgt. Mike Blahota.

Police received a call about an abandoned red pickup truck parked at the London Terrace apartment complex around 1:06 p.m. June 7, police said.

Blahota said when police arrived, they learned the suspicious package could be an explosive. As a precaution, the New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad and the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force were called to the scene.

“No arrests have been made and there were no injuries,” he said.
