Brookdale Community College will hold an Academic Lecture Series from Sept. 27 to Nov. 1 at its Lincroft campus.
The campus is located at 765 Newman Springs Road.
The fee for the course is $75 and will include five class sessions, each pertaining to a different literary topic of discussion. The schedule for the course is as follows:
Sept. 27: Poetry and Literary Parentage: Stephen Dunn, taught by Laura McCullough, Professor of English
Oct. 4: An Incendiary Voice: The Beauty and Power in The Poetry of Patricia Smith, taught by Suzanne Parker, Associate Professor of English
Oct. 11: Toni Morrison: Driven to Truth, taught by Kathleen Kennedy, Associate Professor of English
Oct. 18: Edgar Allan Poe: The Interchanging Darkness And Light Of The Human Mind, Heart, And Condition, taught by Dara Evans, Associate Professor of English
Nov. 1: Through the Darkness: The Struggle and Strength of Charlotte Perkins Gilman and Sylvia Plath, taught by Kelsey Maki, Assistant Professor of English
