Police impounded the car of a Burlington man who led police on a chase on Bear Brook Road in November, according to the West Windsor Police Department.

A police officer observed the man’s car weaving on Meadow Road at 11:42 p.m. Nov. 15. The driver turned onto Bear Brook Road and the officer turned on his emergency lights in an attempt to make a car stop.

The driver allegedly ignored the emergency lights and sped up. This happened two more times.

The police officer called off the pursuit and followed the vehicle into The Mews apartment complex. The driver parked the car and ran away from it. Police determined the man was staying in an apartment at The Mews.

Police officers went to the apartment to talk to the driver, but he was allegedly uncooperative. He spoke to them through the partially opened door. The officers decided not to escalate the situation and left the apartment building.

The officers impounded the man’s vehicle and it was towed away. When the man came to police headquarters to ask about his impounded vehicle, he was arrested and charged with eluding police.

He was processed and taken to the Mercer County Correction Center.
