Gerald T. “Jerry” Hofmann, 88, of Ewing, NJ, passed away peacefully at home with his sons in attendance on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
Born and raised in Trenton, he and his wife Mary built a home and settled in Ewing. Mr. Hofmann worked as a Financial Advisor for many years. In his free time, Jerry loved to read, cook and garden. He was an avid fisherman and runner. He enjoyed Broadway shows, classical music and going to the symphony with his wife Mary. Another passion of his was researching the genealogy of his family. He could often be found at his shore home on Long Beach Island, enjoying shore life and family.
Predeceased by his parents, George P. and Edna (Young) Hofmann, his loving wife, Mary E. (Ayrer) Hofmann, and his daughter, Laura E. Aaron; he is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Charmaine Hofmann of Langhorne, PA, and James and Jacqueline Hofmann of Hamilton, NJ; his grandchildren, Lee and his fiancée Bev Ruth Francis, Sarah Aaron-Deslaurier and her husband Jay, Katie, Carly, Shannon, James, Grace, Timothy and Margaret Hofmann; his great-grandson, Chase Duckett; and his several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was particularly close with his cousin Brother Edward Hofmann, FSC.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 10-11am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 W. Upper Ferry Road, Ewing, NJ, with a Funeral Mass to begin at 11am.
Entombment will immediately follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jerry’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by visiting In Memory Of at inmemof.org.
