Shaw named interim principal at Catena school

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – An interim principal has been named at the Joseph J. Catena School in the Freehold Township K-8 School District.

On Oct. 16, the Board of Education, acting on the recommendation of Superintendent of Schools Neil Dickstein, approved district supervisor Traci Shaw as the interim principal at Catena. The position has a salary of $126,000.

Shaw’s appointment as interim principal will be effective from Oct. 17 through Dec. 21. After Dec. 21, Shaw or another individual may be approved as the next principal, according to the board.

Jeffrey Huguenin, the previous principal at Catena, died on Oct. 7 at the age of 46. He had served as the school’s principal since 2013.
