It was a busy weekend on the pitch for the Hopewell Valley Soccer Association. A slew of boys’ and girls’ teams played games on Sept. 21 and 22.
The results and recaps are below.
Sept. 21
The D2 Boys Carnegie Cat Clinic won its Saturday game against Horvath & Giacin, 5-0.
John Troiano scored the first goal with assistance from Jackson Mooney, Robert Litz and Austin Yasher. Taegan Levy scored the second goal, and Jeremy English the third to give the Cats a 3-0 lead into the half.
In the second half, Nathan Blunt used some great footwork to get a few great steals. Braiden Kelley scored a fourth goal. Liam Mazur played great offense. John Troiano scored his second goal, placing the final at 5-0.
Sept. 22
The D2 Boys Carnegie Cat Clinic won 2-0 on Sunday against HVSA Orange. In the first quarter, Jeremy English scored the first goal, with Austin Yasher, John Troiano and Bodhi Brown playing some incredible offense. Goalies Taegan Levy and Braiden Kelley did a great job protecting the goal.
In the second half, the Cats stayed persistent, with Bodhi Brown scoring the second and last goal of the game with an assist from John Troiano. Liam Mazur, Robert Litz, Jeremy English and Bodhi Brown played great defense in the second half, protecting HVSA from scoring.
