Camera captures burglary in progress in Montgomery

A camera that captured a burglary in progress at a Route 518 home led to the arrest of three suspects May 9, according to the Montgomery Township Police Department.

The homeowner, who was not home, saw two men inside her house on the camera and reported it to police at 11:30 a.m.

Police responded to the area and saw three people, two of whom matched the description of the people in the video. They were arrested and charged with multiple offenses, police said.

A 57-year-old man with an unknown address and a 36-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, both from Queens, N.Y., were charged with burglary, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools and conspiracy, police said.

The 57-year-old man was also charged with being a fugitive from justice and the 32-year-old woman was also charged with tampering with physical evidence, police said.

All three suspects were taken to the Somerset County Jail.
