Aaron Rodgers, currently the quarterback for the New York Jets, recently addressed rumors about his former teammate Davante Adams expressing interest in joining him in New York.

During a press conference in London, Rodgers was asked about Adams’ possible trade and whether he thought they could reunite.

Rodgers made it clear that, while they are still good friends, he doesn’t have control over the situation.

I don’t know how much I can say about it because of tampering,” Rodgers explained.

But I still have a close friendship with him. We spent time in the offseason together. He’s a great guy and a great player. The rest of that’s out of my hands.

Rodgers and Adams played together for eight years in Green Bay and had a lot of success.

Incredibly, Rodgers threw 615 passes to Adams, which led to 7,517 yards and 68 touchdowns.

Including playoffs, they connected for 76 touchdowns, ranking them fifth in NFL history for quarterback-receiver combinations.

During Rodgers’ MVP seasons in 2020 and 2021, Adams caught 238 passes for 2,927 yards and 29 touchdowns, making them one of the most productive pairs in the league.

Adams, now playing for the Las Vegas Raiders, is reportedly unhappy with his current team and has asked to be traded.

It’s rumored that Adams would like to play for the Jets, reuniting with Rodgers.

The Jets, struggling on offense and ranking 22nd in points per game (19.0), could certainly use Adams’ skills.

He would immediately become their top receiver and take some pressure off Garrett Wilson, who has had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons.

While discussing his connection with Adams, Rodgers also used an interesting metaphor: “The grass is green where you water it.

Basically, he meant that success comes from putting effort into your current situation.

Rodgers explained that people often worry that things won’t be better somewhere else, but focusing on what you have can make any situation work.

This philosophy seemed to reflect his attitude about the potential of teaming up with Adams again.

Rodgers, Adams, and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett found great success in Green Bay.

Hackett is now the Jets’ offensive coordinator, which adds to the idea that a reunion could help the Jets’ offense click.

However, Rodgers acknowledged that despite all the speculation, he has no say in whether Adams joins the Jets.

Adams is a six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro, known for his consistent performance.

In the past six years, Adams has had five seasons with over 1,100 receiving yards.

Many teams will be interested in a player of his caliber, not just the Jets.

Adams is currently dealing with a hamstring injury, but it’s not believed to be a serious issue that would affect his trade value.

Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports recently reported that the Raiders are expected to deal Adams “well before the Nov. 5 trade deadline,” with the possibility of a deal happening as early as next week.

We’ll find out soon whether he ends up on the Jets or another team.

For now, Rodgers is focused on the present and trying to avoid getting too involved in the rumors.

He’s careful not to violate any tampering rules, but the possibility of reuniting with Adams remains.

If Adams does join the Jets, it could make a huge difference for the team, giving them one of the best offensive pairings in the league.

But until the trade is official, everyone will watch closely to see where Adams ends up.
