A 30-year-old Manalapan man was charged with drug offenses and other violations after he was stopped by police for several traffic violations on Route 33 on March 11, according to the East Windsor Police Department.

During the motor vehicle stop, the police officer noticed signs of illegal activity in the vehicle, police said. A police K-9 unit responded, and the dog gave a positive indication to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.

Police searched the vehicle and found suspected heroin, suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

He was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a motor vehicle while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

He was also charged with hindering apprehension, obstructing, failure to observe a traffic signal, having an unregistered vehicle and failure to wear a seat belt, police said.

He was processed and taken to the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office on the outstanding warrant.
