Edison police seize guns, drugs

EDISON— Detectives have arrested a North Edison man and seized handguns and illegal drugs from his home, police Chief Thomas Bryan said on Feb. 10.

Township police charged Rodney C Livingston Sr., 51, with firearms possession, distribution of heroin, possession of controlled dangerous substances, and drug distribution with within 500 feet of a public housing facility. He is being held on $100,000 bail at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick.

“Our detectives must be commended for developing information that led to this arrest and helped take these illegal drugs and weapons off our streets,” Chief Bryan said.

Detectives Robert Duffy and Chris Sorber, from the police department’s Special Operations Group, along with Middlesex County Narcotics Task Force detectives, raided a residence Tuesday on Wintergreen Avenue West.

Armed with a search warrant, police detectives found a quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, two loaded handguns, and $6,000 in cash that authorities believe to be the proceeds from illegal drug sales.
