The First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen, 270 Woodbridge Ave., Metuchen, announces the following Holy Week and Easter services:
9:30 a.m., March 20 – Palm Sunday Service; “Walk Through Holy Week” Sunday School program during worship (K-4th).
7:30 p.m., March 21 – Live Dramatization of DaVinci’s “The Last Supper”, in the church Sanctuary. Share in an hour of drama, music and worship. All are welcome at this moving and unique service.
7:30 p.m., March 24 – Maundy Thursday Tenebrae Service, which traces the last hours of Jesus’ life in scripture and song with music by the Junior and Senior Choirs and Handbell Ringers. Service includes Holy Communion and extinguishing of lights.
7:30 p.m., March 25 – Good Friday Indonesian Language Service of Darkness and Holy Communion.
March 27 – Easter Sunday:
7 a.m. Outdoor Sunrise Service (weather permitting) in the First Presbyterian cemetery adjacent to the church; includes music by the Westminster Choir.
9 a.m. Worship Service with music by the Jubilee, Junior and Senior Choirs, Brass and Handbells. Nursery care available for infants to 3 years, with programming for children ages 4 to 2nd grade for the 9 a.m. service only.
11 a.m. Worship Service with music by the Senior Choir, Indonesian Nazareth Choir, Brass and Handbells.
