Administrators at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, announced that the medical center has received a four-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Five-Star Quality Rating System. CentraState is one of only eight hospitals in New Jersey to receive four stars, which was the highest rating issued in New Jersey this year. The rankings are based, in part, on 64 quality measures such as mortality, hospital-acquired infection rates and readmission rates. “We are pleased to be recognized by the federal government for the quality of care we provide our patients,” said John Gribbin, president and CEO, CentraState Healthcare System. “While there are many quality indicators that focus on various health-related services, which can differ in outcomes, it is gratifying that CMS, a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has noted the commitment of our physicians, nurses and clinicians to uphold our mission of clinical excellence.”
