A Ewing Township man was charged with driving while intoxicated on Route 1 south near Alexander Road Jan. 21. He lost control of his car, struck a utility pole and a fire hydrant and rolled over. The man, who was found lying next to the car, allegedly claimed that the driver had left the scene. He was determined to be the driver and was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

A Trenton woman was charged with shoplifting at the Target on Nassau Park Jan. 21. She allegedly loaded up a shopping cart with merchandise valued at $394.20, went to the self-checkout register and allegedly scanned and paid for some items valued at $37.73. She put the other items in shopping bags. She attempted to leave the store, but she was stopped by store security. She was processed and released.

An East Windsor Township man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he was found asleep behind the wheel of his car Jan. 19. A police officer stopped to check on the car, which was parked on the shoulder of the road in the area of Clarksville Road and Heather Drive. The engine was running and the windows were fogged up. The man was processed and released.

A Camden woman was charged with shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia at the Ulta Beauty on Nassau Park Boulevard Jan. 16. The woman allegedly loaded up a shopping basket with designer fragrances valued at $3,116 and walked out without paying for them. While she was being processed, she was found to be in possession of a small glass pipe with burned drug residue. She was taken to the Mercer County Correction Center.

A Lawrence Township man was charged with driving while intoxicated at the intersection of Clarksville and North Post roads Jan. 15. A police officer observed the man’s car pass another vehicle on the left at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a motor vehicle stop. During the stop, the man was determined to be driving under the influence. He was processed and released.
