Two Philadelphia residents were charged with multiple counts of shoplifting for allegedly taking Nicorette chewing gum, cameras and camera equipment from Target over a three-day period between May 23-25. They were apprehended when police were called to investigate a shoplifting in progress at the store on May 25. They were processed and released.
A home in the Elements development was burglarized May 22 between 7:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. The burglars smashed a rear window and the sliding glass door to get inside. The house was ransacked, some items were stolen and property was found broken inside the house.
A Lawrence Township man was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) after he crashed his vehicle into a tree on Route 1 May 21. A witness told police that the car was weaving before it left the road and struck a utility pole and a tree stump before striking the tree. The driver allegedly claimed that he was using his car’s “driver assistant” when it lost control, but police determined that he was intoxicated. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
A Roselle man was charged with DWI after a traffic stop on Route 1 and Harrison Street May 13. His car was observed weaving and failing to stop for a red traffic signal. The man was also allegedly found to have a cup containing an alcoholic beverage and having an outstanding warrant from Roselle. He was processed and released.
An Illinois man was charged with DWI May 12 after police responded to a call for a driver who was asleep in a Honda sedan on New Village Road. The transmission was in “drive” and he allegedly had his foot on the brake pedal. He allegedly had open containers of alcohol in the car. He was processed and released.
A Princeton woman was charged with shoplifting at Wegmans May 9. She allegedly concealed several bottles of alcoholic beverages and other items in reusable shopping bags in her shopping cart. The items were valued at $257.73. She was processed and released.
A Trenton woman was charged with shoplifting for allegedly taking children’s clothing and stuffing them inside a bag at the GAP store at Princeton Marketfair May 4. The woman was also found to have outstanding warrants from West Windsor and Lawrence townships. She was processed and released.
A New Brunswick woman was charged with shoplifting for allegedly loading up a shopping cart with $679.89 worth of merchandise at TJ Maxx and walking out without paying for them May 3. She was processed and released.
