Tilton Body Works of Jackson has been certified by Assured Performance, a nonprofit consumer advocacy organization, for maintaining the right tools, equipment, training and facility necessary to repair the participating auto maker brand vehicles according to the manufacturer’s specifications. According to the company’s credentials, Tilton Body Works is officially recognized by FCA, Assured Performance, GM, Ford, Nissan and Hyundai. According to owner Glenn Sculthorpe, “This certification supports our reputation for superior customer service in serving our community. We are your neighbors and friends, so it is important to provide our customers with the peace of mind that their vehicles are being repaired correctly by highly trained professionals who care about them.”

FirstEnergy Corp. recently recognized Paul Chen of Howell with the company’s President’s Award for his work on a team dedicated to mitigating the effect of future storms on low-lying substations. After the storms Irene and Sandy, Jersey Central Power & Light, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy, delivered plans to protect specifically vulnerable substations from flooding and storm surges. The plans called for the deployment of a system of flood barriers and walls around substations that are considered to be a high flood risk. In recognition of Chen’s efforts, FirstEnergy President and CEO Chuck Jones presented him with a $2,000 award at a recent ceremony in Akron, Ohio.
