For our first Film Club month, we have chosen a truly imaginative piece of filmmaking. The afternoon will comprise of a screening of the breathtakingly beautiful film, EO, followed by a 20 minute intermission with food available for snacking. Then a screening of Au Hasard Balthazar (on which EO was based), a 1966 French drama directed by Robert Bresson, believed to be inspired by a passage from Fyodor Dostoyevsky‘s 1868–69 novel The Idiot.
