All day at Wallace House State Historic Site, explore Washington’s Headquarters and learn about French and Spanish diplomacy with the new United States at the Continental Army’s Middlebrook Cantonment in 1778-79. 

 

All day at Somerset County Courthouse Green, join George Washington and his French ally General the Comte de Rochambeau at a pop-up encampment in Downtown Somerville as their Allied Armies march through New Jersey to victory at Yorktown in 1781. 

 

1 p.m. at Wallace House State Historic Site, guest lecturer Iris de Rode speaks on George Washington’s diplomacy with France and Spain. Dr. de Rode is a Dutch historian specializing in French participation in the American Revolution with fellowship experience at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. Consider bringing a lawn chair or blanket for this outdoors special lecture. 

 

2 p.m. at Wallace House State Historic Site, Middlesex County (Massachusetts) Volunteers Fifes & Drums assembles and offers a performance of music of the Revolutionary War. At 2:30 p.m., follow the Fifes & Drums as they march from Wallace House State Historic Site to Somerset County Courthouse Green.
