Allentown’s second annual Freedom Day celebration will be on Saturday, June 18th, from 11 am to 4 pm, at 20 High Street. Ample parking will be available at Allentown Presbyterian Church and across the street at Newell Elementary School.
This community event honors the history and significance of emancipation by sharing art, food, music, literature, and time. Vendors include Black-owned businesses and businesses from diverse communities. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn how they can support racial justice on a macro level.
Freedom Day is an initiative of the Working Group on Racial Justice. This committee – organized by the Allentown Presbyterian Church – works to eliminate racism through education, building relationships, and outreach.
