On Feb. 1 at 11:30 a.m. while cycling on Ridge Road near Perrine Road in Monmouth Junction, I was hit by a silver Nissan which then fled the scene at an accelerated speed.

I would like to thank all those that came to my aid including drivers who stopped, EMS, doctors and nurses at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Trauma Center and South Brunswick police.

Calls received from friends and family concerning my condition has been very heartwarming.

Based on witness reports, I was highly visible with my bright clothing and powerful lumen rear light. The police have been working to track the car using the after-market replacement passenger’s side view mirror assembly recovered from the scene and video footage in the area.

To the coward who accelerated from the scene immediately after sending me sprawling across the road, I appeal to you to please refrain from getting behind the wheel of a car again. You’ve already proven that your moral compass is non-existent by leaving the scene and you are a time bomb driving on our public roads. I am afraid the next victim may not be as lucky as me.
