‘Golf for Kids’ raises funds for CentraState pediatric services

CentraState Healthcare Foundation, Freehold Township, hosted its 40th annual Band Aid Open Golf Outing, “Golf For Kids,” on June 14.

The event was held at TPC Jasna Polana, Princeton, where 190 golfers enjoyed the beautiful course. More than $225,000 was raised to support pediatric services at CentraState, according to a press release.

CentraState Healthcare System is a nonprofit community health organization consisting of an acute care hospital, a health and wellness campus, three senior living communities, a family medicine residency program and a charitable foundation. CentraState’s teaching program is sponsored by Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, according to the press release.

The annual event was co-chaired by Dr. Anthony Marino of Central Jersey Newborn Care and Dr. Kenneth Tomkovich of Freehold Radiology and Freehold MR Associates.

In addition to golf this year, a private tour of the mansion at Jasna Polana was offered. Attendees received a behind-the-scenes tour of the former estate of Johnson & Johnson heir J. Seward Johnson.

The medical and dental staff of CentraState Medical Center was the chairman’s sponsor. CBIZ Benefits & Insurance Services Inc. was the dinner sponsor, and Central Jersey Newborn Care, the Concord Advisory Group Ltd., Med-Metrix and QualCare Inc. were all luncheon sponsors.

“We are so thankful to all of our sponsors for their tremendous support of CentraState,”  said CentraState Healthcare Foundation Vice President Nancy Barone.
