Joan Allison Gordon, 80

Joan Allison Gordon, age 80 years, of Twin Rivers, NJ died Sunday, December 18, 2016 at her home. Joan has been a resident of the Twin Rivers community since 1974.
Born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, she came to the United States to pursue a career in Hematology. After 37 years as a supervisor of the Hematology and Chemistry lab at Saint Lukes Roosevelt Hospital, Joan retired to serve her community in numerous capacities.
She served the East Windsor Senior Center, First Presbyterian Church of Hightstown, League of Women Voters, the local AARP, the Inter-Hospitality Network for the Homeless, and the New Jersey Office of the Ombudsman for the Institutionalized Elderly among several others.
Joan was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Humphries. Surviving are her brother Errol Falconer; her sister Sheila Fay Williams; her daughter, Carol-Ann Lowery; her granddaughter, Tiffany Lowery; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and an abundance of beloved friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Hightstown located at 320 N Main Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the East Windsor Township Senior Center, 40 Lanning Blvd, East Windsor, NJ 08520. Arrangements are under the direction of Barlow & Zimmer Funeral Home, Hightstown.
