Howell woman charged with drug and weapons offenses at East Windsor motel

Cigarette smoke that triggered a fire alarm at the Motel 6 on Route 33 led to the arrest of a 34-year-old Howell woman on weapons and drug offenses Feb. 24, according to the East Windsor Police Department.

Police responded to an activated fire alarm at the motel and determined that it had been set off by the woman, who was smoking.

During the investigation, the woman was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She allegedly provided false information to police about her identity and allegedly had weapons and drugs in her possession, police said.

She was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, hindering apprehension, possession of crack cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

She was processed and released.
