Belle Mead woman charged with DUI after head-on collision

A 53-year-old Belle Mead woman was charged with driving under the influence after her car sideswiped a pickup truck and then struck another vehicle head-on March 19, according to the Montgomery Township Police Department.

The woman, who was driving a 2019 Mercedes-Benz C30, was turning left onto Symes Drive when she allegedly sideswiped a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup truck that was stopping at the intersection, police said.

After sideswiping the pickup truck, she continued on Symes Drive and swerved into the opposite lane, police said. She allegedly struck a 2003 Lincoln Aviator sports utility vehicle head-on.

None of the drivers were injured, police said.

The woman was also charged with refusal to submit breath samples, reckless driving and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. She was processed and released.
