Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Hopewell Borough

A 48-year-old Hopewell Borough man suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a vehicle as he was crossing East Broad Street at Elm Street Nov. 18, according to the Hopewell Township Police Department.

The vehicle, which was being driven west on East Broad Street by a 61-year-old Lambertville man, struck the pedestrian as he was crossing East Broad Street at the crosswalk at 6:25 p.m., police said.

The pedestrian suffered severe head injuries and was taken to the hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment, police said. He was reported to be in critical but stable condition.

The crash is under investigation by the Hopewell Township Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
